One of the South Cariboo's best kept secrets is its richness in bird species and its premier birdwatching sites- well over 100 species can be seen in one day! Whether your passion is loons, bald eagles, mountain bluebirds, yellow-headed blackbirds, waterfowl or warblers, our tours will provide you the opportunity for superb viewing. Visit the beautiful Walker Valley and other birding hot spots in the area. Learn about each species and its habitat needs. Bring your camera and binoculars.

Patricia Spencer, teacher and naturalistYour Guide

Patricia Spencer, MA, is the chief guide for Earthwise Ventures. She is a teacher and naturalist who has lived in rural BC for about 30 years.

Patricia loves birds, mountains and wildflowers! Whatever your background, she will help you feel comfortable in the outdoors. Patricia has studied with Tom Brown, Jr. (in tracking, nature awareness and survival) and engages in ongoing naturalist training from the Wilderness Awareness School. Patricia enjoys many artistic pursuits such as singing, dancing, nature photography and poetry writing. She possesses a deep respect and love for the mystery and beauty of the natural world, which she enjoys sharing with others.
